The Human Rights Campaign
"HRC seeks to improve the lives of LGBT Americans by advocating for equal rights and benefits in the workplace, ensuring families are treated equally under the law and increasing public support among all Americans."
The Human Rights Campaign is arguably the most popular activist group for the advocation of human rights in the LGBT community. The HRC has been in action since 1980 and is the largest civil rights organization dedicated to Gay Rights. The symbol of the HRC, the equal sign, has become an important symbol for equality in the LGBT community.
The site gives information on the history of the organization, how you can get involved, issues, resources, local outlets, support groups, and facts and statistics about the LGBT community.
