The ACLU: What They're Doing to Help.

The ACLU

"The mission of the ACLU LGBT Project is the creation of a society in which lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people enjoy the constitutional rights of equality, privacy and personal autonomy, and freedom of expression and association."

The American Civil Liberties Union is a national organization advocating the rights of the individual. They do so by litigating, legislating, and educating the American public on a number of issues, including those in the LGBT Community. The ACLU has a web page dedicated to the LGBT Rights Movements including court cases, what you can do to help, and other listed resources.

The website states "The LGBT Project works for an America free of discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. This means an America where LGBT people can live openly, where our identities, relationships and families are respected, and where there is fair treatment on the job, in schools, housing, public places, health care, and government programs."
